During the bid phase for the new Kastelli International Airport, AIRPORT COMPETENCE has been the technical advisor for CSCEC/Archirodon (a Chinese and Greek construction company). Along with the general strategy a traffic forecast was set up. At a given site the new airport was planned according to the calculated requirements.

Objectives:
A central goal of the project was to ensure a sustainable and cost-effective project. This included the airport and the related infrastructure as well as touristic activities in the vicinity. The airport was not conceived as a “transition building” but as an economic driver for the region.
